BANE (Sinners of Saint #4) by L.J. Shen

"Don’t you get it? We’re the outliers. The rejects. We’re free. Free to do whatever the hell we want, because it won’t matter. We’ll never fit in here, so we don’t have to try. We’re liberated from all this bullshit.” He motioned around us with his hand. “They can’t hurt you if you don’t give them permission to. So don’t.”"

SYNOPSIS

Bane
Naked surfer. Habitual pothead. A con, a liar, a thief and a fraud.
Last I heard, he was extorting the rich and screwing their wives for a living.
Which is why I’m more than a little surprised to find him at my threshold, looking for my friendship, my services, and most puzzling of all—looking humbled.
Thing is, I’m on a boycott. Literally—I cut boys from my life. Permanently.
Problem is, Bane is not a boy, he is all man, and I’m falling, crashing, drowning in his sweet, perfect lies.

Jesse Carter
Hot as hell, cold as ice.
I wasn’t aware of her existence until a fat, juicy deal landed in my lap.
She’s a part of it, a little plaything to kill some time.
She is collateral, a means to an end, and a side-bonus for striking a deal with her oil tycoon stepdad.
More than anything, Jesse Carter is a tough nut to crack.
Little does she know, I have the teeth for it.

"MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN PLEDGED TO THIS MEETING WITH YOU"

Baaaaaaanneeeeeee!!!! Bane bane bane! Aaahhhhhhh I love hiiimmmmmmm!!! As compared to the last 3 books from Sinners of Saint series, this is my favorite! I thought Vicious will be my fave because Ruckus and Scandalous didn't really captured my attention as much as Vicious but then came Bane. I sooooo love the story and the issues that this book represent. I think it's so important to tackle this kind of issue because not everyone has the voice to stand up for themselves.

Jesse Carter. Haayyyy.. this badass woman! We all need someone like Jesse in every book seriously. She's stripped off of her voice from the very start so I really adored her when she said that the princess will save herself from the story and she really did. She doesn't need a man to rely unto to save herself and to stand up for her. I really liked her development from the very start of the book til the end. From being that shy girl who's afraid to go out and meet people to a confident, brave and courageous woman. Even after everything that she went through, she never lost herself and in the end she learned how to stand up for herself and found ways to get the justice she deserves.

Bane.. Roman Protsenko... ohhh Baanneeee! To be honest, I don't know what to expect from him since he does not belong to the HotHoles and I only got glimpses of him from Scandalous since he is Edie's ex boyfriend but holy shit! He has become my fave from the whole series. He is so funny I was laughing throughout the book. He is so confident about himself but so unsure about what he does at the same time. I really love his chemistry with Jesse. They are so adorable!

I really love the book so much that after reading it, I wanna read it again. And I did! I feel like this book is perfect as a closure from the series. There was no boring chapter! 10 out of 5 stars!!
