THE HUNTER (Boston Belles #1) by L.J. Shen

“I am strong, yes. But being strong doesn’t mean never getting hurt. It means having a high pain tolerance. I’m not dumb enough to amp it up.”

I have a confession to make. I just stupidly realized, after reading this for the second time, that Sailor's parents are Sparrow and Troy from Sparrow of same author. I swear, their names did not ring a bell until after reading this twice. And I'm like the biggest stupid out there because Troy's name was even mentioned in Angry God when Vicious gave his contact details to Vaughn. Haha. To think that I read Sparrow just months ago. How did Sailor and Troy's names didn't sound familiar when I read their names here? Huhuhu.

SYNOPSIS

Hunter
I didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?
It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.
It just happened.
Now my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.
Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…

Sailor
I didn’t want this gig, okay?
But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.
I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.
Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?
It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous, charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.
No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.
Even at the cost of losing everything I have.
Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom.

I swear I sometimes die of laughing because of Hunter! He's definitely on my top list of favorite heroes in L.J. Shen's books. The way he was being treated by his family as a stupid boy but he just shrugged those insults everytime. I remember that scene in Broken Knight where Vaughn and Hunter was supposed to bring Knight home from hospital and when they told Dean they'll take care of him, Dean just plainly said that he doesn't trust anything that comes from Hunter's mouth or something like that. Hahaha. I love how carefree he was and doesn't think of other people even if they freely show their distaste of him.  I was already expecting a book of Hunter to be honest and I thought it'll be part of the All Saints High series so I was shocked when I found out it'll be in a totally different series and finally a new place away from Todos Santos.

Oh Sailor! I really love her! Finally a heroine that plays sport (well Edie too since she  did surfing)! And  an archery of all things which is so badass! I really love her banters with Hunter they are so funny together. I love how she tames Hunter and never gives up on his antiques. I love her chemistry with Hunter!

I love this book so much because we get to see other characters from previous series like Luna and Knight even if for a short period of time. Overall. I more than enjoyed reading this it was so fast-paced I devoured it in one sitting.
