KALEIDOSCOPE HEARTS (Hearts #1) by Claire Contreras
Claire is one of the authors that I discovered last year and I'm so glad and happy that I loved her books from reading them for first time. I'm a sucker for second chances romance so her books are really perfect for me.
SYNOPSIS
He was my older brother's best friend.
He was never supposed to be mine.
I thought we would get it out of our system and move on.
One of us did.
One of us left.
Now he’s back, looking at me like he wants to devour me. And all those feelings I’d turned into anger are brewing into something else, something that terrifies me.
He broke my heart last time.
This time he'll obliterate it.
To be honest, this book is nowhere near my tbr this year and I was kinda conflicted on what to read next after reading L.J. Shen's Sinners of Saint, All Saint's High and Boston Belle's series. So I was scrolling my list when I found this on my "Rom" bookshelf on my iPad so I gave it a chance since I've already read Claire's Second Chances Duet and I loved it so much! And OMG! I devoured this series too in no time and I really loved every moment of it.
When I read a book especially romance, I always have this standard that the hero and the heroine have that chemistry from the start. Like, when I read that part where they meet in the book for the first time, I can already feel their chemistry. And this book did not deny that to me. Oliver and Elle's chemistry is so undeniable and so cute that my heart clenches and I feel butterflies (wow!) in my tummy with their interactions with each other. I'm glad that Oliver's POV is that from the past, that way I can also understand their relationship more and what made them do such decisions in the past and not be blinded with the others POV.
What I also liked about this book is the side characters especially Elle's brother Victor and Elle's bestfriend Mia. I love that each character complimented each other and it was not messy. I always wanted to read a book where the heroine has an overbearing older brother and Elle and Victor's relationship is so funny and cute especially whenever they're in their parents house.
I really love books about second chances so when I found out this is about it, I never hesitated to read it and I'm glad I did. I can't recommend this book enough. A must read!
